Make a plot of the current screen contents in MIF format. This can be imported into FrameMaker.

PlotFm3 produces a file that can be read by FrameMaker 3 or later. This only supports 8 different colors, and is therefore not suited for displays with shading. Its main use is for the output of figures from commands like FigAngles.

PlotFm4 makes use of color possibilities introduced in FrameMaker 4, these files cannot be read by earlier versions. They are also larger.

FrameMaker can currently not handle the files created with PlotFm4 well, they make it very slow. Unless this improves with future versions, PlotFm4 is only of limited usefulness.
